BOSTON — Since Toronto shipped out Rudy Gay, the Raptors have been one of the NBA's hottest teams. And a big part of their recent success has been the play of Kyle Lowry.

While his playing time before and after the trade remain relatively the same, his statistics have shown a significant bump.

A 14.8 points-per-game scorer prior to the Gay trade, he has averaged 17.2 points since. The 6-foot point guard has seen his assists numbers rise to 8.0 per game compared to 6.7 pre-Gay trade.

Similar improvements can be found in his field goal percentage (44.7 compared to 41.9) and three-point shooting (44.6 compared to 35.7).

Even Lowry's rebounding numbers (4.6 versus 3.6) have been on the rise.

"Kyle Lowry is playing on a fantastic level," said Celtics head coach Brad Stevens.

And it's not just offense, either.

Lowry has proven himself as solid defender as well, evident by him taking an NBA-leading 21 charges this season.
