The NBA trade deadline is on February 20th, and there's a good chance the Celtics make some noise before it's over.
There was a rumor about Jeff Green to the Hawks that surfaced on Sunday. On Monday, the rumor was about Brandon Bass.
Sporting News reports that three teams - the Suns, Bobcats, and Warriors - are interested in Bass.
Bass is a very serviceable player who can start or come off the bench and provide plenty of offense. He also has just one year remaining on his deal, for $6.9 million. That's not a bad contract at all.
Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely thinks Bass will get traded by the deadline.
"I do think he's going to get dealt," Blakely said. "And at this point there's a lot of window shopping that you're seeing going on by teams. But certainly the way he has played is a big factor but even a bigger factor is that he has a very manageable contract. He has another year left on that deal after this one, but when you look at his production, and when you look at the fact that he's making less than $7 million a year, that's a guy that pretty much every team in the NBA can find a way to fit in a role player like him."
