Allen will play Game 1 vs. Sixers

It was up in the air whether or not Ray Allen would be able to give it a go for Game 1 of the Celtics-Sixers series, but that question was put to rest by Allen about an hour before the game began.

Allen will play.

After going through his normal pregame shootaround, Allen determined that his right ankle felt good enough to play, although he'll still be playing through some pain.

Just yesterday, Allen said that the ankle felt as bad as it did two weeks ago, when Allen missed regular-season time which extended into the beginning of the first series.

Doc Rivers also previously expressed concern, but said that everybody, including Paul Pierce (sprained MCL), is good to go tonight.
