There is speculation that Brad Stevens won’t be the head coach of the Boston Celtics for long, that he will fall victim to the manning the sidelines of a bad basketball team.
Danny Ainge insists that is far from the truth, and sent that message via a 6-year deal worth $22-million. The contract gives Stevens security needed if the forecast of the C’s being cellar dweller for the coming years holds true.
“We believe in [Stevens] as a person, as a coach,” said Ainge, “as a guy that will learn the NBA game, he’ll put time in, he’ll develop relationships.”
