Remember those rumors surrounding Rajon Rondo in a deal to the Houston Rockets?
Yeah . . . forget about them.
Celtics GM Danny Ainge was on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger & Mazz on Friday, where he shot down that report strongly.
"Houston was never, ever in a discussion with us throughout this whole trade deadline," Ainge said. "Chandler Parson's name never came up, Rajon Rondo's name never came up in discussions with Houston. I saw four or five different talk shows, ESPN, and guys talking in the studio about these very issues that someone just made up. It was just created out of the air and then it's reported on it for the next week."
Ainge was then asked if he overvalues Rajon Rondo, where he said it was possible, but "we love him. We like who he is. He's obviously not playing his best basketball right now. He's not back 100 percent, we didn't think he would be probably until the beginning of next year."
Ainge also said that none of the owners have told him he couldn't trade Rondo.
