Might Brad Marchand be getting on the Bruins' last nerve?
Things could be trending in that direction if Marchand's on-ice antics continue to out-pace his on-ice production. Saturday night in Vancouver, Marchand ruffled feathers by kissing his Stanley Cup ring finger and mock raising the Cup to rile Canucks fans.
"He's a good player and he's an agitator," Claude Julien said after the game. "There's some good things to that part of his game, but there's certain areas where you can't cross the line."
Marchand has five goals and 14 points in 33 games so far this season -- nowhere near the level of production he gave the team last season. In the month of February alone, he had four goals and 15 points.
"It's one thing if you're playing well to talk smack if you're doing things on the ice," Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty said. "But if you're not scoring goals and you're talking smack and embarrassing your team, that's when they maybe think about making a change."
