You talked and we listened.

Many of you complained about the new Wakeup Call format we'd tried out over the last two weeks. The consensus was, you'd rather have all the links available in one spot, rather than having to click on several different files for them.

And so you shall. Here, back in the style, is your wakeup call -- a combination of newsworthy and/or interesting baseball tidbits -- for Monday, April 15:

AUTO RACING

BASEBALL

  • Carlos Quentin drops his appeal and will begin serving the eight-game suspension he received for breaking Zack Greinke's collarbone . . .  (AP)

  • . . . right about the same time Greinke has surgery, which will sideline him for about eight weeks. (NBC's Hardball Talk)

  • Andy Pettitte's time on the shelf won't be nearly as long. (AP)

  • Think Joe Maddon is having second thoughts about not bunting in the 10th inning Saturday? Think again. (Hardball Talk)

  • The renovation of Wrigley Field will begin at last, as the team and the city finally reach agreement on a $500 million aid package. (CSN Chicago)

  • The Cubs mark the occasion with a record-setting performance . . . though not one they'll be bragging about. (AP)

  • Who's hotter than the Braves? (AP)

  • But it's nothing to get too worked up; history tells us than an 11-1 start doesn't really mean much in the big picture. (Hardball Talk)

  • Roy Halladay's 200th career win might have eased a lot of the concerns about him if it hadn't come against a glorified semi-pro team. (CSN Philly)
