Thomas not thinking about retirement

Tim Thomas has started thinking about how long he'd like to play in the NHL, and the only real conclusion he has come to is that it's not worth thinking about too far in advance.

"I've discussed it," said Thomas of retirement talks he's had with his family. "The opinion changes from time to time. The conclusion I've came to is it's no use looking that far ahead. Take it year by year and see how it goes."

If he does plan on playing out the rest of his career this way, it could put the Bruins in a bit of a predicament as they have a young goalie in Tuukka Rask whose future needs to be determined soon. Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty and Mike Giardi point out that if the Bruins plan to keep Thomas around for another few years, they may as well trade Rask.
