BOSTON -- Forward Carl Soderberg was the only Bruins player missing from Friday's practice at the TD Garden, a day after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 in their season-opener.

Soderberg is recovering from an ankle injury, and was replaced by Jordan Caron in the lineup on Thursday night.

"Recovering" seems to be the correct word when describing Soderberg's status, according to Bruins coach Claude Julien on Friday.

"It's a hard injury to come in and say, 'Listen, he's going to be in [the lineup] on Sunday or Monday,'" said Julien. "It's really hard to pinpoint with that type of injury. But he is definitely getting better every day. And I think he really is getting closer. So hopefully if there's no setbacks, he should be on the ice soon. I can't say a day because it will all depend on how things go. But he should be on the ice soon."
