Given the seasons they had with the Bruins, it's no surprise that when David Krejci and Zdeno Chara's squads faced off in the IIHF World Championships, Chara's bunch left winners.

Chara played the last three minutes of the game, logged a game high 26:27 of ice time and was a force inside his own blue line as the Slovakian national team beat Krejci's Czech Republic squad, 3-1. Former Bruin Miroslav Satan scored the game-winning goal for Slovakia.

"We all know we play not just for us, but for our country," Chara said after the game. "Obviously, since the tragedy that happened, we know it's not just for us, it's also for Pavol," said Chara in reference to the late Pavol Demitra who perished in the Yaroslavl plane crash last year.

Slovakia moved on to the gold medal game Sunday.
