When Jarome Iginla opted to waive his no-trade clause to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins rather than the Boston Bruins, most assumed that winning a Stanley Cup was the main reasoning for his choice.
Two games into the Eastern Conference Finals, the Penguins are in an 0-2 series hole to the Bruins. On UNO Sports Tonight, Gary Tanguay, Greg Dickerson and Kirk Minihane discussed whether or not Iginla is having second thoughts. The crew agreed that while Iginla might be feeling some regret over the decision, he was making the smart move at the time.
Meanwhile, if the Flames had traded with the Bruins, Matt Bartkowski would have been on his way to Calgary. Given the postseason he's having, the Flames are probably wishing Iginla had decided to go Boston over Pittsburgh.
