WINNIPEGThe Bruins had a last minute scratch in their lineup as 19-year-old phenom Tyler Seguin was scratched from the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets after missing a team breakfast and team meeting on Tuesday morning.

The Bs arrived in Winnipeg in the early Tuesday morning hours after handily beating the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Monday night with Seguin scoring the insurance power play goal in the third period. But Seguin then overslept and missed the team function, and Bs general manager Peter Chiarelli indicated it wasnt the first time hes missed a team function in the morning.

"Seguin missed a team breakfast and a team meeting this morning when he didnt wake up. It was an honest mistake, but we have team rules. We have to abide by them and he has to abide by them, said Chiarelli. Thats the reason for his scratch.

Hes had a couple of these incidents over the course of his career. I dont see it as a problem. I see it as a young player who sometimes forgets to set his alarm.

So how did Seguin take the news that Jordan Caron would instead suit up against Winnipeg?
Wellnot good, but he understands that we set team rules and everybody plays by the same rules, said Chiarelli.

Seguin leads the team with 13 goals and 25 points, and leads the entire NHL with a plus-19 this season prior to missing his first game as a healthy scratch.
