BOSTON – The Maple Leafs allow an NHL-high 36.4 shots per game and rank a distant 22nd in the league while allowing three goals per game. While the Bruins themselves are a defense in flux while they search for the answers without Dennis Seidenberg, they seemed to find some things they liked team-wise in shutting down the San Jose Sharks last weekend.

But offense shouldn’t be an issue for them against a porous Maple Leafs defense, and Tuukka Rask has always been strong against the team that drafted him in the first round before dealing him to the Black and Gold. Rask is 9-1-0 in 12 career games against the Leafs with a 1.46 goals against average and .951 save percentage, a set of numbers that should serve him well as he gets moving on a hot streak.

He’ll be countered by Jonathan Bernier, who has wrestled control of the starting job between the pipes in Toronto.
