Tuukka Rask was the first goaltender onto the ice for the Bruins and hell face the immortal Leland Irving for the Calgary Flames in the once-a-year meeting between two strangle NHL bedfellows at TD Garden.

In bigger news, Brad Marchand will miss tonights game with flu-like symptoms and has been replaced by Zach Hamill among the 12 forwards playing against Calgary.

Itll be the first career start for Rask against the Flames, and his eighth game against a Western Conference opponent this season in 14 games for the Bruins. Rask is leading the NHL with a 1.61 goals against average and .945 save percentage after an otherworldly month of December, and is riding a personal four-game win streak. It will be Irvings first game of the season and his fourth appearance this season.

In odd Bruins minutiae news: Joe Corvo is now skating around without a helmet during pregame warm-ups along with Benoit Pouliot, Shawn Thornton and Milan Lucic.

The rest of the Bruins lineup appears to be exactly the same as it was Wednesday in New Jersey against the Devils:
