Peverley (knee) returns to Boston for tests

MONTREAL -- The Bruins aren't taking any chances with Rich Peverley and his apparent knee injury. Peverley appeared to suffer a knee-on-knee collision with Habs defenseman Hal Gill during the third period of last night's 4-3 Bruins win at the Bell Centre.

"Rich has gone back to Boston get checked out by our doctors," said Claude Julien. "We're still not sure how serious it at this point."

It's got to be considered potentially serious if the shifty Peverley is on a plane back to Boston for testing. Journeyman forward Josh Hennessy will likely get the call to replace Peverley for Friday night's game in Winnipeg against the Jets.

That is unless the Bruins and GM Peter Chiarelli can somehow pull off a deal to help a beaten and battered roster now missing both Peverley and Nathan Horton.

"We'll go with the players we have and everybody will have to suck it up at this point," said Julien. "We've had injuries before so this isn't anything new to us."
