Kelly loses teeth at B's practice

ST. PAUL, MNThe Bruins were already missing Tyler Seguin, and it appeared they had lost Chris Kelly when he tumbled face-first into the boards during Saturday mornings practice at Wakota Arena.

Kelly rushed off the frozen sheet that the Bruins had turned into a competitive battleground after Friday nights loss to Winnipeg, but he returned to finish out practice with blood dried up on his gray practice sweater. After the session was over Kelly answered questions with his helmet still on his head and his face cast downward away from the TV cameras.

After the cameras left he showed that his two front teeth had been shattered after the impact into the boards, and admitted that hed be spending the rest of the day in a dentists chair getting worked on.

Just one of those days, said Kelly, with a sigh after holding a media session despite missing large pieces of his front Chiclets. Today is a tough day.

It's unknown whether Kelly will need some kind of facemouth protection when he takes the ice for Sunday's game. B's followers will remember he went on an offensive tear against the Montreal Canadiens after a facialinjury forced him to dona face cage in the first round of the playoffs last season.

Kelly will undoubtedly be in the lineup Sunday afternoon when they take on the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center largelybecause hes a hockey player willing to conduct interviews after getting his teeth knocked out.

Only in the NHL would that happen.
