Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has earned the nickname "Sid the Kid" for his masterful play, but his nickname took on a new meaning Tuesday thanks to a crying baby on a flight out of Pittsburgh that was headed to Boston.
The pilot on the JetBlue flight heard a baby crying on board, and then asked over the intercom if it was Crosby, who has spent a chunk of the last two games whining to officials.
Our Joe Haggerty and Mike Giardi were both on the plane.
Baby crying in back of Jet Blue flight packed w/Boston media. Pilot just got on intercom and asked if "Sidney Crosby was in the back crying"— Joe Haggerty (@HackswithHaggs) June 4, 2013
Baby crying on plane. "Is that Sidney Crosby?" A++ from the pilot #bruinstalk— Michael Giardi (@MikeGiardi) June 4, 2013
Crosby and the Penguins have tried to match the Bruins' physicality in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Bruins have taken a 2-0 series lead, outscoring the Penguins 9-1.
Pittsburgh will need to rebound in Game 3 tomorrow night to avoid a 3-0 hole in the series. Whether or not they'll be able to do it without crying to referees remains to be seen.
