UNIONDALE, NY -- The Bruins held an optional morning skate at Nassau Coliseum on Monday morning, and both Milan Lucic and Jarome Iginla stayed off the ice while the rest of the B’s got the blood flowing with a 30-minute skate.

It appeared in opening line rushes that Ryan Spooner would center the third line with Carl Soderberg and Loui Eriksson, but it should be noted the 21-year-old center was also one of the last players off the ice with Zach Trotman and Chris Kelly.

Claude Julien would only say Spooner was healthy and “over the flu” after Monday’s morning skate, but did confirm that Chris Kelly would sit out the road game vs. the Islanders.

“He’s fine,” Julien said of Spooner. “He’s healthy now, and over the flu.”

Chad Johnson was the first goalie off the ice for the optional skate, and it appeared he would get the start against the Islanders. That would leave Tuukka Rask for Tuesday night’s game against the Florida Panthers and Tim Thomas in his first time playing in Boston as a visiting player.

Here are the forward combos and D-pairings based on Monday’s morning skate:
