Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty is back for his "One Timers", where he touches upon a handful of Bruins-related topics now and coming up in the near future.
And the future has the B's traveling out west.
Finally two months into the NHL season we get to see if the Bruins are in fact road warriors," Haggerty said. "They're going to be heading out to the West Coast next week for the first time all year. They're actually the last team in the Atlantic Division to go out West. They've also played five less game against the Western Conference than anybody else in their division.
The trip will feature a Jarome Iginla reunion in Calgary, and a Bruins reunion in Vancouver for the first time since "the scene of the crime" as Haggerty put it.
They should be rested though. The B's had five days off between games before Thursday's tilt in Montreal. That was huge for Tuukka Rask.
"He's played 22 out of the Bruins first 27 games this season, clearly the No. 1 goaltender . . .," Haggerty said. "He admitted to me over the weekend that physically and mentally he's feeling the fatigue a little bit. He's only played in a career-high 45 games in a season . . . he's on pace for 70 games this season, and yes, even Tuukka needs a rest."
Check out the video to see what Milan Lucic's offseason training has to do with the upcoming matchup against the Canadiens.
Also, Haggerty talks a bit about the B's - Canucks game on December 14, and the fact that Alex Burrows won't be playing due to a broken jaw.
