BOSTON -- Patrice Bergeron left Tuesday night's game in the second period after taking an unintentional elbow from Ottawa's Colin Greening.

Both players were going for a loose puck in front of the Bruins' net, and Bergeron leaned right into Greening's arm as he tried to block Bergeron from the puck.

Bergeron -- who has a history of concussions -- got up without his stick and went right back to the dressing room on his own power. He never returned.

After the game Claude Julien as asked if he had any update.

"No, I don’t," said Julien.

Julien was later asked about what it would mean if Bergeron had to miss time, but Julien refused to answer because he called that "speculation."

Later in the game, Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton stepped up and made a big hit at his own blue line, but he seemed to get the worst of it and went back to the dressing room as well. But unlike Bergeron, he returned a few minutes later.

"Yeah, he came back and played so he’s fine," said Julien.
