The Boston Bruins come into their third game of the regular season going up against a Colorado Avalanche team that has made noise on and off the ice.
Off to a 3-0 start, the Avalanche’s new head coach Patrick Roy, has garnered all the attention with his aggressive coaching style and his tirade in Colorado’s 6-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks in their season opener.
Cam Neely came on Felger & Mazz to discuss the new Avalanche coach that the Bruins will see Thursday night.
“It never really crossed my mind,” said Neely on if he ever thought Roy would become a head coach during their playing days. “Obviously, he spent a lot of years coaching in the Quebec league. He certainly didn’t take long to get into coaching after his playing career was over. So, it was something he certainly must have been thinking about to get into coaching.”
Neely also said he never really considered coaching even thought he was offered a couple of assistant coaching positions.
“Being that low, basically on the bench, I felt like I’d probably want to jump over the boards,” Neely said.
