Tim Thomas and the Boston Bruins are on the same sheet of ice tonight, but Thomas will wear a different uniform.
Thomas, who is now the goaltender of the Florida Panthers will face is former team for the first since being traded.
It was a rollercoaster ride for Thomas in a Bruins uniform, as he helped the team capture a Stanley Cup in 2011 before sitting out the 2012-2013 season.
President of the Boston Bruins, Cam Neely, joined Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti this afternoon to talk about the Bruins facing their former goalie.
“Everybody has moved on,” Neely said. “Based on everything I read from Tim and his quotes, he has moved on. And certainly we’ve moved on.”
Even with their tumultuous past, Neely said they will try to look at Thomas as just another player on the ice.
“At some point, it’s just going to be another player,” Neely said. “It’s always difficult when you are a player and you play against a former team or teammates. But once the puck is dropped, and you are in the heat of the game, you look at it like another player.”
