* Kerry Fraser agrees with the opinion of this address from last week: Seidenberg probably deserved an elbowing penalty for his hit on Bobby Ryan, but the NHL was right to withhold supplemental discipline.
* The Ottawa Senators are on the lookout for a sixth forward, according to Ottawa Sun hockey scribe Don Brennan.
* An interesting look at shot quality, and how that factors into a side-by-side evaluation of goaltenders Tuukka Rask and Carey Price. While some see this as groundbreaking, I see this as kind of obvious. Bruins goalies have always put up good numbers in large part because of Claude Julien’s system that keeps the puck away from the slot area at all costs.
* FOH (Friend of Haggs) Kevin Kurz checks in with San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson at the quarter mark of the season.
* PHT’s Mike Halford has Jonathan Quick’s groin strain putting him on the shelf until at least Christmas, and perhaps really starting to open the door for Tim Thomas to make his Team USA bid in the meantime.
* Here’s a few quotes from my weekly chat with Toucher and Rich. Among the topics discussed are the concerning rise in Zdeno Chara’s ice-time workload as November rolls along.
* For something completely different: Gabe Kapler shares some really eye-opening stories of being bullied earlier in his baseball career, and how there truly is a fine line between establishing team chemistry and crossing over into despicable actions.
