Everybodys favorite bombastic hockey analyst, Don Cherry, thinks there will be a two-month work stoppage and I havent heard anything to make me feel any differently. Both Katie Carrera and Puck Daddy have some choice cuts from an interview Michael Neuvirth gave that ripped Alex Ovechkin, the Washington Capitals, Dale Hunter, Braden Holtby and pretty much everything else that wasnt nailed down to the floor. Give the Washington goalie plenty of credit for having a crazily inflated opinion of himself. The Hockey Writers blog has some preliminary rankings for a 2013 NHL Draft class that is supposed to the best in the last 10 years. The Blueshirts United blog sits down with Henrik Lundqvist for a 1-on-1 interview, and manages to not get lost in his dreamy blue eyes. Impressive. Most impressive. Former Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque was named the head of the junior hockey players union to forever be known as the CHLPA. There are some interesting things facing that junior hockey players union in a league where the teams truly have all the power at this point in its existence. Sergei Federov sits down for a no holds barred interview that includes leaving his playing career behind to become the general manager of the legendary CSKA Moscow program.
For something completely different: Grantland.com remembers the legacy of Hollywood director Tony Scott after he threw himself off a bridge in LA last week. True Romance was always a big favorite of mine: Scott direction and a Quentin Tarantino script was a dynamite combination.
