  • Sidney Crosby’s emissaries are accusing Zdeno Chara of punching in the jaw during the Eastern Conference Finals, which thereby set Sid the Kid off into a rage. This is only remotely noteworthy because Sidney Crosby is the NHL’s bubble boy, a great player that also doesn’t appear to think others should be able to hit him in a contact sport. 
  • Mark Messier confirms interview with the New York Rangers for their head coaching gig, though it appears that Alan Vigneault is this close to becoming the next guy running the show for the Blueshirts.
  • Former UNH standout Bobby Butler was traded to the Florida Panthers in a swap during an off-day in the Stanley Cup Finals.
  • The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to lock up Claude Giroux to a long term deal, and keep him in the Philly fold for a long, long time.
  • A former Los Angeles Kings executive says that Los Angeles is not a baseball town. That’s good because it’s not really a baseball, football or basketball town either. It’s a show business town.
