The Bruins will go with young defenseman Kevan Miller for the third straight game as both Adam McQuaid (missing his eighth straight game) and Dennis Seidenberg (missing his third straight game) weren’t on the ice for pregame warm-ups. The patchwork defense unit with four young, inexperienced defensemen worked well against the St. Louis Blues and Carolina Hurricanes, but they’re going to be tested in a serious way by the offensive firepower of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It’s highly probable that McQuaid would be ready to return to the B’s lineup on Wednesday night on the road against the Detroit Red Wings.

Tuukka Rask and Marc-Andre Fleury were the two goaltenders to lead the Bruins and Penguins onto the ice, and they’ll get the starts for their respective hockey clubs. Otherwise, the Bruins will feature the same lineup they’ve tossed on the ice for the last couple of games, and look for a similarly strong result.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on the pregame skate:

Lucic-Krejci-Iginla

Marchand-Bergeron-Eriksson

Soderberg-Kelly-Smith

Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Hamilton

Krug-Boychuk

Bartkowski-Miller
