Brad Marchand hadn't scored a goal in over two weeks heading into Monday's Game 2 against the Penguins, with his last goal coming in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Rangers. But the Bruins' pest came through in a big way Monday night, scoring two goals with a plus-4 to lift Boston to a 6-1 win and a 2-0 series lead.
After the game, Marchand spoke one-on-one with CSNNE's own Kevin Walsh to talk about his Game 2 performance.
"It's nice any time you get to score a goal but they come and go and you just want to make sure the rest of your game is solid," Marchand said.
Marchand also talked about how his goal at the end of the first period helped keep the momentum in the B's favor despite allowing a goal just 25 seconds prior.
"It's tough [on Pittsburgh] when we're able to score a goal right after they do and kill the momentum," Marchand said. "But they still came out very hard after that and we played well."
Check out the rest of Walsh's one-on-one with Marchand in the video above to hear him describe the his two goals.
