BOSTON -- The Bruins out-shot the Rangers 42 to 20 on Tuesday night at the TD Garden, but it was Henrik Lundqvist's who stood on his head, leading New York to a 3-0 win over Boston.
The Rangers scored two goals in the first period, and entered the third period with that 2-0 lead thanks to a power-play goal from Ryan Callahan midway through the first, and a late first-period goal from Ryan McDonagh with 11.8 seconds left in the period.
Callahan's was a whole lot prettier than McDonagh's though, as he finished a smooth passing play that began from the left corner. The Rangers then quickly threw the puck from point-to-point, where Marian Gaborik sent a pass from the left point down to Michael Del Zotto at the lower-left circle. Del Zotto then put a pass out front to Callahan, who was battling for position with Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. Callahan won the battle and tipped Del Zotto's pass into the open net for the 1-0 Rangers lead.

McDonagh just threw a prayer on net in the final seconds of the opening period, as he intercepted a Patrice Bergeron pass up to the half wall. McDonagh got the puck and quickly wristed a shot at the area of the net, and it re-directed off Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and into the goal for a 2-0 Rangers lead.
The Rangers added a third goal, not even three minutes into the third period, as Artem Anisimov finished a 2-on-1 from the right side as he lifted a snap shot over the blocker of Tim Thomas for a 3-0 Rangers lead, and essentially, ending any hopes of a Bruins comeback.
