Milan Lucic is one of many Boston Bruins players who has become very involved in the local community during his seven years with the team, and his signature charity event is on deck Thursday night. The Fourth Annual Milan Lucic Rock and Jock softball, presented by Align Credit Union, will take place at the LeLacheur Park home of the Lowell Spinners as it has in each of the first three seasons.

“I want everybody to come down and enjoy,” said Lucic. “Now that a lot of the guys are here [in Boston] they’ll be coming down to play in the Rock and Jock. It goes to a great cause, so come out and enjoy. You get to see us swing a bat, which doesn’t happen very often.”

The game was originally scheduled for Aug. 22, but had to be pushed back to Sept. 5 after Lucic was invited to take part in the Team Canada Olympic orientation camp in Calgary that same week. Milan Lucic, Dennis Seidenberg, Shawn Thornton, Johnny Boychuk, David Krejci, Daniel Paille, Brad Marchand, Torey Krug, Matt Bartkowski and Ray Bourque are among the players confirmed for the game, and they’ll be facing off against the “Rocks” composed of TV and radio hosts led by everybody’s favorite Boston comedian, Lenny Clarke, and including your friendly, neighborhood NHL insider.

It should be noted that the very popular “Jocks” team is an undefeated 3-0 in the first three seasons of the charity softball game.

The event is to benefit Align Credit Union’s charitable partners through the Celebrities For Charity Foundation. The event is filled with fun as fans watch the Jocks – Professional Athletes – take on the Rocks – Radio and TV Hosts – in a game of softball.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start for the softball game, and tickets are still available by visiting the Rock and Jock website.
