WINNIPEG – The Bruins are setting in on the final stages of the preseason with a two-game road trip against the Winnipeg Jets with the first game at Winnipeg’s home ice at the MTS Center, and the second tilt a neutral site showdown in Saskatoon that will register as Boston’s first time there in a long time.

David Krejci, Jarome Iginla and Milan Lucic will get the night off on Thursday as will Zdeno Chara, Chris Kelly and Carl Soderberg among others. A group of younger B’s players fighting for spots will instead suit up against a Jets team with their coach, Claude Noel, already saying he views these two games against Boston as “a measuring test” for his hockey club.

Matt Fraser, Ryan Spooner, Nick Johnson, Jordan Caron, Matt Lindblad and Reilly Smith are all competing for what will likely come down to two roster spots, and with Smith already looking to have locked one of them up.

It appeared that Krug, Seidenberg, Marchand, Bergeron and Eriksson will be the top PP unit tonight based on the formations at morning skate. Niklas Svedberg will get the start in net and is expected to play the full 60 minutes while the rest of the lineup should look this way based on Thursday morning’s skate:

Marchand-Bergeron-Eriksson

Fraser-Spooner-Johnson

Caron-Lindblad-Smith

Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Seidenberg-McQuaid

Bartkowksi-Hamilton

Krug-Miller

Svedberg
