WILMINGTON – The Bruins pushed their Friday practice back a couple of hours due to the snowstorm that ended in the early morning hours, but they still got in their work prior to Saturday’s matinee against the Winnipeg Jets.
Rookie defenseman Torey Krug was the only player missing from the practice ice, and recovering winger Loui Eriksson once again skated with the green non-contact jersey as he comes back from his second concussion. Claude Julien said the puck-moving defenseman was missing from the practice session with a “maintenance day”, but the expectation was he’d still play on Saturday.
“He’s missing with a maintenance day,” said Julien. “If he’s able to play [against Winnipeg] then he’ll play.”
Krug leads all B’s defensemen with 20 points on the season, and leads all Bruins players with his 12 power play points. He appeared to stay off the ice for the last few minutes of Thursday night’s win over the Nashville Predators, but it’s unclear exactly what’s bothering the 22-year-old defenseman.
