WILMINGTON -- With Patrice Bergeron out of the lineup and not traveling with the Bruins to Washington, D.C., it looks as if 20-year-old Alexander Khokhlachev will be taking Bergeron's spot centering Brad Marchand and Loui Eriksson in tonight's preseason game against the Capitals.

Khokhlachev centered Marchand and Eriksson during the Bruins' first practice session on Tuesday morning, which was the group that made the trip. Bergeron took part in on-ice workouts with some players who did not make the trip in the team's second practice session of the day.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said after the first session that this will be a good test for Khokhlachev.

"We moved him up there because he's a good offensive player," said Julien. "It's just about making adjustments with our lineup with Bergeron being out.

"He's a skilled player," added Julien. "He works hard. And he's got a great opportunity here to play with some real good players. So, if I'm him, I'd take advantage of that."
