The Bruins will be without third liner Chris Kelly after he suffered a back injury in the win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

Kelly was missing from the practice ice for the second straight day when the Bruins took the ice at the MTS Centre for Thursday’s optional morning skate prior to their game against the Jets, and he’s been ruled out agtainst Winnipeg.

“We’re going to make some lineup changes tonight, but I’m going to keep those to myself right now,” Claude Julien told reporters. “He’s a little stiff there. It’s a back injury. It’s day-to-day. We’re taking it easy with him. He’s definitely not playing today, but things can change quickly with something like that.

“From what I’ve been told, we’re very optimistic about him being ready by the start of the playoffs.”

Patrice Bergeron was also missing from Tuesday’s optional skate, and could be out against the Jets as the Bruins look to rest some of their regulars prior to next week’s start to the postseason. Both Kelly and Bergeron missing from the lineup would indicate that both Jordan Caron and Ryan Spooner will be in the lineup for the Black and Gold on Thursday night.

Spooner was flown into Winnipeg Wednesday on NHL emergency recall after the injury to Kelly and should be making his first appearance for Boston since January. Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on the Boston Bruins’ twitter account:
