Brad Marchand caught everyone’s attention not for his on-ice play Saturday night against the Vancouver Canucks, but for his antics.
On two separate occasions, Marchand directed his antics at Canuck players, first by kissing his Stanley Cup ring finger and then by pretending to hoist the cup.
Marchand’s antics did not go over well with the Canucks or the Boston Bruins.
“He’s a good player, he’s an agitator, and there’s some good things to that part of his game, but there are certain areas where you can’t cross the line,” said Bruins’ head coach Claude Julien. “Sometimes his emotions get the better of him. We work with him and we are going to continue to work with him. Perception it gives our organization is not what you want to see with those kinds of things.”
