It looks like the Bruins will end the suspense and officially place Rich Peverley and Dougie Hamilton into the lineup for Game 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Peverley was taking line rushes as the left wing with Chris Kelly and Jaromir Jagr, and Dougie Hamilton will make his NHL debut in a bottom D-pairing with Wade Redden. For the Bruins it’s a chance to get a legitimate third scoring line for the first time all season, and allow Peverley a chance to tap into the ability that allowed him to lead the Bruins in goals scored during last year’s playoff series against the Capitals.
That means Adam McQuaid will be paired with Zdeno Chara as the top shutdown set of defensemen, and could be asked to play a much bigger role than has been asked out of him this season.
Tuukka Rask and James Reimer were the two goaltenders to lead the Bruins and Leafs onto the ice respectively, and will get the start assignments between the pipes for a pivotal Game 2 at TD Garden. Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on pregame warm-up:
