*Interesting San Jose Sharks notes from FOH (Friend of Haggs) Kevin Kurz, who rightly wonders why John Scott was signed out in San Jose. I’d have the same puzzlement for the other 29 teams as well.

*Interesting hire out in Edmonton where the Oilers organization has brought on board fancy stats guru Tyler Dellow, who is infamous for his run-ins with the main stream hockey media.

*PHT writer Mike Halford has Daniel Alfredsson ready to resume skating, and test whether his back will be able to handle another NHL season past 40 years old.

*One of the duck boats used in the Bruins Stanley Cup parade is being ushered off into retirement.

*I’m not sure how it’s all going to work, but it sounds like the ECHL and the CHL might be merging together.

*Kimmo Timonen sidelined for a second time in his career by blood clots in his lungs and leg. Scary situation for anybody especially after the tragic death of the former American Idol contestant Adam Johns just a few days ago.

For something completely different: only Grantland would break down Tom Cruise and Magnolia 15 years later.
