*PHT writer James O’Brien has Raffi Torres saying that Matt Cooke is being treated like a “serial killer” by some people. I’d argue he’s simply being treated like a cheap shot artist that lives by no code, and goes out of his way to injure players when he sees a chance to hurt someone. He is vile disgrace of a hockey player, and he was never “reformed” as the insulting media narrative would have us believe. How is that for a brief description?

*Larry Brooks says it’s a “throwback playoff win” for Daniel Carcillo and the New York Rangers.

*Changes may be on the horizon with the Ottawa Senators after a season where they fell short of the playoffs.

*Apparently, Montreal Canadiens Michel Therrien has grown quite a bit from his days as a bullying young coach in junior and minor league hockey. There may be some players in the B’s dressing room that are still a little dubious of this statement.

*Ron MacLean is sorry for his comments about the Quebec referee amid the Montreal Canadiens/Tampa Bay Lightning series that’s now over after four games.

*The Kings are vowing that they “won’t go away quietly” after getting spanked in the first three games by the San Jose Sharks.

*For something completely different: entertaining interplay between Stephen Colbert and David Letterman, but I’m still not sold on Colbert as the new Late Show host.
