*A lengthy summation of the Kevin Dineen firing with the Florida Panthers that happened less than 24 hours after his team quit against the Bruins in the third period. It’s too bad because Dineen is a very good coach, and deserved a better fate with a better organization.

*Evander Kane tells the media that he could have played in a game vs. Chicago that he was scratched for, which should go over really well with the Winnipeg management and coaching staff.

*Todd Richards tells the Columbus Post Dispatch that the Blue Jackets are playing “embarrassing hockey”, and it’s hard to argue with that assessment.

*PHT’s Jason Brough gives a look at the potential trade assets that the Florida Panthers might want to deal away. It’s not a very impressive list.

*Jaromir Jagr appears to have an unrequited love affair going on with the Philadelphia Flyers organization.

*An interview with Bruins prospect/P-Bruins forward Justin Florek on the Power Play Postgame Show.

*For something completely different: my favorite story of the day is David Ortiz finished third in the city of Boston mayoral race.
