*The Calgary Flames have acquired former Bruins prospect/AHL enforcer Lane MacDermid, and added a little more toughness to their lineup in the process.

*James Dolan talks to the New York Post about Isiah Thomas, John Tortorella and owning both the Knicks and the Rangers. Okay, I’m in.

*Nashville Predators assistant GM Paul Fenton was vocal in his interest for the Buffalo Sabres GM job, but thus far Jim Benning is the only name that’s surfaced as being granted an interview.

*Team USA general manager David Poile says that Seth Jones is in the mix for the Olympic team, and that December will be a very big month for player evaluations on the roster.

*Ted Nolan doesn’t like what he’s seeing in Buffalo. This is not a surprise, nor should it be.

*It sounds like one Bruins defensemen prospect is up for consideration in the World Junior level for Team USA.

*Old friend . . . okay very old friend Jaromir Jagr ties NHL milestones held by Mario Lemieux and Gordie Howe, a couple of guys that are pretty good.

*For something completely different: a tale of woe and sports fandom with Toronto’s favorite crack head ex-mayor.
