*Marc Spector says that the NHL is getting too fast, and that’s where so many of these awful hits are coming from. That’s definitely a part of it along with a number of other things.

*Damien Cox says the Toronto Maple Leafs are struggling right now, and it’s more about what they couldn’t, or shouldn’t, be doing.

*Paul Stewart has another column over at Hockeybuzz.com, this time on Kamikaze Attacks and Red Herrings in the heavy hits that are being leveled each and every day during the NHL season.

*My buddy Lou Pellegrino has started a new hockey show called Power Play Break, and here’s an episode interviewing former NHL tough guy Stu Grimson.

*Matt Cooke makes his return to Pittsburgh an emotional one as a member of the Minnesota Wild. The only thing that was missing was sprinkling a couple of “Peace and Love, Peace and Love” wishes right in the middle of his statements on the violence in the NHL these days.

*Seattle and Las Vegas are the two front-runners for Western Conference expansion teams, or at least it would make sense that they are, according to Craig Custance.

*For something completely different: Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson made some homophobic remarks, and people are upset about it. I’m linking it, but not really caring aside from thinking the Duck Dynasty guy is an idiot for what he said.
