You may know him as the Bruins Insider at CSNNE.com, but for Joe Haggerty, there is more to life than just hockey.

Haggerty proved as much on Friday. As part of an effort to raise funds for Special Olympics Massachusetts, he took part in the organization's "Over the Edge" event, an initiative that had Haggerty rappelling down the 22 stories of the Hyatt Regency, Boston.

The daring stunt is not for those who have a healthy (or unhealthy) fear of heights, but it was no such problem for Haggerty. With ropes securing his place and preventing his fall, Haggerty remained relaxed throughout his descent the Hyatt, even opting to go with no hands at one point (albeit when he was near the ground).

Most importantly, though, Haggerty's rappelling was for a good cause. His donation page is here, and every cent will go toward funding Special Olympics Massachusetts' mission to provide year-round training of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
