With a chance to put the Rangers away and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Bruins suffered a 4-3 loss in overtime on Thursday, and the inexperience on defense started to show.

Andrew Ference, Dennis Seidenberg and Wade Redden have missed all four games in this series, forcing youngsters Torey Krug, Matt Bartkowski and Dougie Hamilton into the lineup. While Krug has three goals in the series, Hamilton has been less effective. He turned the puck over in overtime and lost a one-on-one battle that resulted in Chris Kreider scoring the game winning goal. The lack of defensive depth played a factor in Game 4, and Bruins insider Joe Haggerty believes that the team needs Seidenberg back on the ice.

"This is where the young defensemen start to creep up and show that they need Dennis Seidenberg back," Haggerty said after the game.
