First game of the season, and with all the new players on the roster, the Boston Bruins still have some things to work out.
But that does not dismiss their 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning to start of the 2013-2014 season.
Kevin Walsh and Joe Haggerty talked on PostGame Live how they felt the first game of the season went for the Bruins.
“For long portions of this game, the Bruins were outplayed by the Lightning,” Haggerty said. “They looked a little sloppy, a little disjointed. There are a lot of new players that are getting integrated into the Bruins mix and I think you saw a little bit of that, the not quite chemistry there yet between a lot of the new line mates. They made enough plays to win though.”
Jordan Caron played well for the Bruins in the season opener, and had a goal for the Bruins until it was waved off. Nevertheless, his play was still impressive.
“He looks motivated,” Haggerty said. “He was so dead set on making a roster spot at the end of the year. He went with that intensity right into the regular season. It showed.”
