Haggerty: 5 thoughts from B's-Senators' 3rd period

Here are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins falling to the Ottawa Senators by a 4-2 score after 60 minutes at TD Garden.

1) Tuukka Rask did a pretty good job earlier in the period of holding the fort down against a couple of really good Erik Condra chances, but allowed three goals in a game the Bruins desperately wanted.

2) The Bruins have scored 18 goals in their last nine games going into the playoffs. That’s just not good enough.

3) Good to see Dennis Seidenberg playing with some offensive verve and a little bit of nasty. He stepped up for his fourth goal of the season at the start of the third period, and crushed Milan Michalek with a hit in the neutral zone later on in the period. He looks like he’s ready to go.

4)  Robin Lehner didn’t look sharp at all, but the Bruins couldn’t get enough sustained pressure to do any real damage against.

5) Bring on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Phil “I have three goals and a minus-22 in 22 games against the Bruins in my career” Kessel. It will be an absolute circus atmosphere with the Leafs in the playoffs for the first time since 2004.
