The biggest concern for the Boston Bruins entering their Eastern Conference semifinals series against the New York Rangers was replacing the three injured defensemen.
After youngsters Matt Bartkowski and Torey Krug filled in admirably, the Bruins are now faced with a decision on what to do once veterans Andrew Ference and Wade Redden are healthy. Gary Tanguay and Dave Goucher discussed that issue on UNO Sports Tonight, agreeing that the young defensemen have played well enough for Claude Julien to keep the lineup as is.
Once Ference is healthy, however, the Bruins will have a tough decision to make. His veteran presence will be tough to keep out of the lineup, but deciding which young defensemen gets bumped out of the lineup between Krug and Bartkowski won't be easy. Regardless, Goucher thinks Ference will be on the ice at some point during the Eastern Conference Finals.
