The Bruins will see the return of a pair of their familiar lineup components as both Shawn Thornton and Loui Eriksson will play against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night at the SAP Center, according to NHL.com.

Thornton has just finished up a 15-game suspension and was skating with his normal Merlot Line mates, Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille, during pregame skate, and Eriksson dropped onto the third line with Ryan Spooner and Carl Soderberg. The idea of pairing the Swedish bookends with the speedy Spooner could really give the Bruins a deadly potent offensive trio on their third line.

Eriksson hasn’t played since suffering his second concussion of the season on Dec. 7 when he was rocked by a Brooks Orpik hit, and has missed 20 games this season due to head injuries.

“I'm just going to go and do what I'm supposed to do,” said Eriksson to NHL.com. “If I get a hit, I think that's good for me to see how I'm feeling out there. I think it's going to be a good start playing against San Jose. That's a good team to play against. It will be a hard game [Saturday night].”

The Bruins will also be without Johnny Boychuk, who flew back to Boston to be with his expectant wife set to deliver twins this week, and will install stay-at-home rookie defenseman Kevin Miller back in the lineup.

Here is the forward combinations and D-pairings based on the personnel at morning skate in San Jose, according to NHL.com:
