WILMINGTON -- Only nine Bruins skated at Ristuccia Arena in Friday's optional practice. That included the lone goaltender on the ice, Anton Khudobin.

The eight skaters included Dougie Hamilton, Aaron Johnson, Chris Bourque, Shawn Thornton, Dan Paille, Greg Campbell, Jay Pandolfo, and Lane MacDermid

"When you're not on the ice, you're doing work somewhere else," said Bruins coach Claude Julien afterwards. "So, we're getting ready for tomorrow.

"There are sometimes where guys will stay off the ice and we do what we call a 'flush bike ride,'" added Julien. "Guys will get on the bike and pedal a little bit, just to get the lactic acid from the build-up, and we do a little bit of a stretch, and that kind of stuff. There's other times where we just kind of leave the guys alone. We did some video work this morning, and guys did a little bit of maintenance work, whether it was with the trainers or in the gym."

The Bruins host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon, followed by a game against the Montreal Canadiens the very next night, at the TD Garden on Sunday.
