Prior to Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, there seemed to be much speculation of whether or not Bruins coach Claude Julien's job was hanging in the balance. A second straight first-round exit would not be seen as successful within the Bruins organization or the fan base, even just two years removed from a Stanley Cup title.
But now Julien's Bruins are one win away from a return to the Eastern Conference Finals and it turns out some of his coaching decisions, including sticking with the fourth line, are a major reason for the B's success in the second round.
With all of this in mind, the UNO Sports Tonight crew debated Wednesday night whether or not Julien and General Manager Peter Chiarelli get the respect that they deserve from not only the fans and the media, but also their own bosses, including Cam Neely.
"I think to some degree they do underappreciate the coach," Chris Gasper said.
