Daugavins-Soderberg share rushes, Jagr missing

CHICAGO – The Bruins are continuing their intrigue on the fourth line as both Carl Soderberg and Kaspars Daugavins traded shifts alongside Rich Peverley and Shawn Thornton, with Daugavins taking the first shift on the fourth at the morning skate for Game 5 at the United Center. The smart money says that the Soderberg skate appearance is a ruse by the B’s coaching staff meant to throw Chicago off a little bit, and to perhaps light a fire under the “Daug Man” after some key mistakes in the last few games.

The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr was the only B’s skater not present for morning skate, but that’s become a normal occurrence during the latter rounds of the playoffs.

Jay Pandolfo skated in Jagr’s place alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, and Boston appeared both loose and confident during their morning session. Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on the morning skate:
