Tuukka Rask can become a restricted free agent on Friday, but Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli was positive the team will complete a contract with its star goalie.
"I feel confident we will get a deal done with Rask in short order," Chiarelli said. "I would think before [July 5] … but I'm confident regardless."
Rask, 26, can sign offer sheets with other teams as a restricted free agent, but he said he is not nervous about his contract.
"I don't think it's going to be an issue for us," said Rask, who led the Bruins to their second Stanley Cup Finals appearance in three years this season.
Chiarelli talks about Rask's contract and other options the Bruins may have when free agency begins on Friday in the video.
